THROUGHPUT TESTS
hdparm [options] device
Quick interface throughput test (without performing actual disk reads)
# hdparm -T /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 2548 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1273.66 MB/sec
A quick sequential test of disk data reading:
# hdparm -t /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 300 MB in 3.02 seconds = 99.21 MB/sec
