RAID solution with GPU acceleration - GRAID SupremeRAID™ (RAID 0/1/10/5/6 on NVMe drives)
| Supermicro news • OtherRAID solution with GPU acceleration - GRAID SupremeRAID™ (RAID on NVMe drives)
Supermicro NVMe RAID & Gigabyte NVMe RAIDThe GRAID SupremeRAID™ SR-1000 and GRAID SupremeRAID™ SR-1010 solution is an NVMe data protection solution that offers GPU acceleration for ultra-high performance NVMe drives using a common data protection method in a RAID scheme.
The extreme performance of NVMe flash devices has contributed to major advances in modern computing, enabling the adoption of all-flash memory in various industries. The wide bandwidth available to any NVMe device has rendered traditional RAID cards insufficient in performance. RAID software can utilize the entire bandwidth of an NVMe device, but simple RAID calculations used for large-scale data protection quickly become too CPU intensive, taking up CPU resources, preventing the server from doing anything other than RAID 5/6 operations. In addition, for a variety of workloads that require NVMe SSD performance, traditional RAID solutions are challenging to achieve the expected performance. Current solutions, whether in the form of software RAID or hardware RAID, are unable to support more than 4 NVMe SSDs.
GRAID SupremeRAID™ performs all RAID functions on a cost-effective GPU card, freeing up the CPU to handle major application workloads. GRAID SupremeRAID™ comes in two models, users' choice is based on the appropriate system/model.
SupremeRAID™ solutions Supermicro are AVAILABLE ONLY for system-level sales, using fully tested and configured systems.
