Supermicro Twin product family
| Supermicro newsMulti-node systems are designed so that all servers (nodes) are located in a single chassis with shared power supplies and fans. Supermicro has developed a family of products enabling the latest available computing, storage and networking technologies in the Twin product family. These are available in the following product lines: TwinPro, BigTwin and FatTwin.
Supermicro TwinPro
The Supermicro TwinPro is the basic entry point of the Twin family.
TwinPro Features:
- Up to 4 nodes can be configured, each containing 2 processors
- Each node has 16 DIMMs, allowing the use of up to 4TB of high-speed memory
- 2 network interfaces with 10GbE speed
- 2 redundant 2200W Titanium Level (96%) power supplies
- It is possible to plug in up to 6 hot-swap SAS or SATA drives and also 2 SSD drives
- M.2 NVMe (per 1 node) located inside the chassis
- Expansion slots for each node include 2 PCI-E 4.0 x16 (LP) slots
- IPMI for each noda
Supermicro BigTwin
Supermicro BigTwin continues to lead the industry with systems designed for low cost of ownership and high performance. BigTwin is available in 2U size, with 2 or 4 nodes. Each node is capable of accommodating up to 2 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors.
Features of TwinPro:
- A 2-node system can be equipped with processors with a TDP of up to 270 watts, the highest available in Intel's product portfolio. 4-node systems can be equipped with processors with TDPs of up to 205 W
- Ability to install up to 12 2.5" NVMe/SAS/SATA hot-swap drives or 6 3.5" drives, including Helium HDDs, to provide the highest possible storage capacity for scale-out solutions
- Support for 2 M.2 SATA or NVMe drives with optional RAID 1 hardware array for bootable redundancy, based on the Marvell® 88NR2241 intelligent NVMe switch
- Każdy node optymalizowany pod kątem obliczeniowym ma do dyspozycji 2 gniazda PCI-E 4.0 i zapewnia obsługę interfejsu SAS za pośrednictwem kontrolerów Broadcom SAS3808/SAS3908
- Each storage-optimized node has 3 PCI-E 4.0 slots and provides SAS support via Broadcom SAS3808/SAS3816 controllers and optional SAS3916 for up to 12 SAS/SATA drives
- Support for up to 16 DIMM slots per server to support up to 6 TB per node when using Intel® OptaneTM Persistent memory
- IPMI for each noda
Supermicro FatTwin
Supermicro's FatTwin product family is a multi-node 4U system available in 4 or 8 node configurations..
FatTwin features::
- Each node can accommodate up to 2 third-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Each node is designed to work with only a single processor that is part of a dual-processor motherboard
- These systems are designed so that the nodes face the front, making them easy to service
- Hot-swap disk bays can accommodate storage devices such as NVMe, SAS or SATA
- Ability to install a single GPU for HPC and AI/ML applications
- Support for 6 DIMM slots per node that can accommodate up to 4TB of DRAM, or up to 6TB when using Intel OptaneTM Persistent Memory
- Connection to the network is possible thanks to the support of AIOM technology
- IPMI for each noda..
