Key features in Windows Server 2025 include enhanced password management for computer accounts and Azure Arc integration, facilitating resource deployment across multi-cloud and edge environments. I/O performance has seen a significant boost, and support for the latest encryption protocols, such as TLS 1.3, ensures secure LDAP communication. Another new feature is Credential Guard, which is now enabled by default to safeguard sensitive system information.

For developers, the introduction of Dev Drive is particularly valuable. This optimized storage volume supports the ReFS file system and uses block cloning, making file copying faster and more resource-efficient. Windows Server 2025 also enhances NUMA system support, enabling better use of processors in multi-core systems, along with GPU virtualization improvements that allow servers to handle larger, AI-based workloads.
