IPMI password reset
| F.A.Q.IPMI password can be reset to default by restoring the factory settings IPMI module using the tools available IPMICFG, IPMITOOL. It may happen that the network configuration is restored to the factory settings, so before performing this operation, note the current network configuration. IPMICFG is available for DOS, Linux and Windows.
IPMI reset using IPMICFG
PREPARATION:
Preparing a USB key with FreeDOS (eg. Use tool UNetbootin)
Download the latest version IPMICFG:
https://www.supermicro.com/wftp/utility/IPMICFG/
Unpack and copy the DOS directory on the stick:
unzip -p ipmicfg_integration_1.09.zip
Copy the DOS directory on the stick:
cp / DOS / mnt /
RESTART THE COMPUTER
NETWORK CONFIGURATION:
Display current IP & MAC:
ipmicfg -m
Displays the network mask:
ipmicfg -k
Display Gateway (GW):
ipmicfg -g
RESET IPMI
Restoring the factory settings (IPMI reset to factory default)
ipmicfg -fd
The default password IPMI
User: ADMIN
Password: ADMIN

Information about setting up a new user:
ipmicfg -user help
Creating a new user account (2) UserName:
ipmicfg -user add 3 UserName Password 2
Changing the user rights on the operator:
ipmicfg -user level 3 3
Changing the permissions on administrator
ipmicfg -user level 3 4
